  • Trails and Ales: Take a hike through the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve on Monday, September 23, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The 1,000-acre reserve sits between Solana Beach and Encinitas. Tour the San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center followed by lunch and a cold beverage at Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery in La Jolla. Depart from the Spreckels Center. Cost: $45 for Coronado residents and $59 for nonresidents. Transportation, parking, docent-led hike and admission is included. Lunch is not included in the cost.
  • Join the California Society for Ecological Restoration for a free presentation, “San Diego: Biodiversity Bonanza, Conservation Conundrum” on Wednesday, September 25, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Spreckels Center. Botanist Michael Nieto will talk about San Diego’s natural history, environmental crises, dramatic regulatory compromises, and bright ecological future of habitat restoration.
  • Happy Hour Social: Do you love live music and tasty appetizers? Then join us on Thursday, September 26, 4 to 6 p.m. for the Spreckels Center’s first Happy Hour Social event. Local musician Jerry DeMink will perform and there will be complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and hors d’ oeuvres. Alcoholic drinks may be purchased at a cash bar. Remember to pre-register at the Spreckels Center.
