Avenue of Heroes May 2019
Coronado, CA (May 16, 2018) – Coronado honored 16 Veterans at the Avenue of Heroes Banner Dedication Ceremony at Coronado High School. The event was free and open to the public.
Sixteen veterans, who call or have called Coronado home, were recognized and honored. Officials with the City of Coronado, VFW Post 2422, the Avenue of Heroes Neighborhood Association, and the Coronado Historical Association have worked together to develop the Hometown Banner program, which honors men and women from Coronado who have honorably served their country.
Each honoree’s biography was read, and Coronado Mayor Bailey presented the honoree or family member with a duplicate of the banner which will be displayed on the Avenue of Heroes along Third and Fourth streets.
